Traditionally, A&Rs and managers have relied on time-consuming networking and legal negotiations to stay informed about deal flow. Meddling has rolled out a new service that offers music industry professionals free, real-time tracking of artist signings and label drops. This tool, designed to monitor contract changes through copyright updates and lawyer reports, aims to streamline the often complex process of following artist movements in the industry.

Meddling’s service simplifies data flow and artist signings, providing immediate access to actionable data. “As independent market share continues to explode, I want Meddling to be helpful to all segments of the industry without compromising on the premium data platform,” says Meddling founder and CEO Travis Rosenblatt. "By launching a free deal flow service, I hope more people can get an idea of how leveraging data can save them time at all rungs of the ladder."

The service is accessible to A&Rs, managers, and others looking for insight into artist movements. It tracks label affiliation changes through updates in copyright filings and allows users to manually report changes. These reports can be made public or kept private, depending on the submitter’s preference.

Meddling’s initiative comes as part of its broader push to democratise access to industry data. For nearly a decade, the company has offered customisable, automated analysis of global music consumption, helping its users identify emerging artists ahead of their competitors. "My hope is that with the Meddling Listing Service providing deal flow, you’ll only take music lawyers out to lunch if you actually want to," Rosenblatt adds.
