DataMind Audio has released its AI-powered music tool, the Combobulator v1.0, moving it from beta to full availability. The new software offers a unique approach to sound creation, using "neural audio synthesis" to allow users to explore an artist’s sonic world, rather than merely replicating their work.

You don't need an internet connection or subscription to use the Combobulator, which sets the tool apart from many other AI services. Through its Artist Brains feature, it gives users access to an audio map that can be manipulated in creative ways, from generating feedback loops to shaping sounds in ways not previously possible. Now equipped with twice the number of Artist Brains as the beta version, the tool provides a more extensive range of possibilities for musicians and sound designers.

Co-founded by musicians and AI innovators, DataMind Audio is looking to help growing an ethical ecosystem with artists at its core. A key aspect of this is the company's profit-sharing model, which ensures that musicians receive 50% of the profits from their Artist Brain contributions. “This isn’t just about technology,” said Catherine Stewart, DataMind Audio’s CEO. “It’s about giving artists the tools and support to push their creative boundaries.”

Alongside the release of the Combobulator v1.0, the company is also launching a style-transfer plug-in that features 12 Artist Models, developed in collaboration with leading producers and sound designers. This feature allows users to transform their original work to fit the sound profiles of other artists, offering more flexibility in music creation.
