Billie Eilish Releases Album With Isolated Vocals That You Can Sample & Win Exclusive Prizes

Following in the footsteps of Grimes who released Elf.tech with her vocal stems last year, Billie Eilish unveils a vocals-only album that has no instrumentals, so that her fans and music producers could use them for remixes and potentially win some exclusive prizes. For $7.50, you can purchase the digital album "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT" on Eilish’s website, which includes the isolated vocal tracks for the entire album. Those who have already bought a copy of the standard digital LP will be automatically able to download the new instrumentals-free rendition.

When you get the vocal stems, you can create your own remixes and enter a giveaway hosted by BandLab, an online DAW and stem splitter, and Interscope Records. To enter, simply leave a comment on that BandLab post and link to your remix, hosted on any online platform.

The giveaway offers a chance to win a merch pack that includes a vinyl copy of "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT" autographed by Billie Eilish herself, along with two tickets to her upcoming tour. The contest is open until June 28, 2024. However, you must log in from a US or Australian residence to buy the album.

"We’ll be picking one lucky winner to take home $500, an exclusive merch pack with a “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” vinyl autographed by Billie, and a pair of tickets to her upcoming tour 😍 Contest ends June 28, 2024 – so keep the comments and remixes coming in!," BandLab shares.

Note, though, that if you wish to distribute your remix beyond the competition, you'll need to clear the samples through Eilish’s label, so that your work is officially recognised and you avoid any legal issues.

"HIT ME HARD AND SOFT," released on May 17, is already climbing the charts. As of writing, it's outselling "the rest of the top 5 combined", according to sales and streaming data captured by the Official Charts Company.
