Apple Music has introduced a new feature, "Listening Now," offering artists real-time insights into the number of listeners streaming their tracks on the service. The feature is accessible via a widget on the Apple Music dashboard, providing immediate data to musicians and their teams.

By selecting the widget, artists could see the insights of their "Listening Now" metrics from the past two days. The service not only reveals the peak listener count at any moment within the 48-hour window but also calculates the average listener count over the same period. Additionally, the widget displays the six songs currently getting the most playbacks under the section 'Top Songs Now."

However, Apple did note that there is a minimum threshold for listener counts, meaning the feature might not display continuous data if that threshold isn't reached.
