What is a Playlist on TikTok?
TikTok Playlists are basically collections that help creators organise their content bound with one theme and let TikTok users watch thematic content conveniently organised. Users can find Playlists on the profile page of a creator and watch it from here.
If a user finds your video from the For You page or the discover section, they can also head directly to the playlist, since each video within a Playlist has a link to the full Playlist.
How many followers do you need to make a Playlist on TikTok?
According to the official page in the TikTok Help Centre, the Playlist feature is available to creators with over 10,000 followers on TikTok.
As of writing, just a few select creators and businesses can create Playlists on TikTok.
How to make a Playlist on TikTok
There are two ways of doing so: right from your profile and from a video. You can make as many Playlists as you’d like.
How to make a TikTok Playlist from your profile
- Open the TikTok app and tap your Profile icon.
- In the Video tab, if it's your first playlist, tap on "Sort videos into playlists." Otherwise, if you have already created a playlist, tap the plus icon next to your existing playlist.
- You'll be prompted to give your playlist a name and then select the videos you want to include in it.
How to make a TikTok Playlist directly from a video
- Navigate to the video you want to use in your Playlist. This video must be public.
- Tap the three-dot icon on the right side of the video, or press and hold the video.
- Select "Add to playlist" and then tap "Create a playlist."
- You'll then be prompted to name your playlist and add more videos to it.
Additionally, you can add a video directly to TikTok playlists when you publish it.
How do I add a video to a TikTok Playlist?
To add a video to your TikTok Playlist, follow these steps:
- On your TikTok profile, find the video you want to add to the Playlist.
- Below the selected video, click on 'Share' on the right side or tap and hold the screen.
- Tap on 'Add to a playlist'.
- Choose the playlist you want to add the video to, or create a new one if needed. The video must be public, and each video can only be in one playlist.
You can also add a video to the Playlist right upon uploading it onto the platform. In order to do that, tap on 'Add to a playlist' before uploading or even recording it, choose the appropriate Playlist, and then publish the video.
To remove a video from a Playlist, follow these steps:
- Select the video you want to remove.
- Tap on 'Share' at the bottom of the screen.
- Click 'Remove from Playlist'.
To manage and edit your Playlist:
- Click on the '...' icon located at the top right of your playlist.
From here, you can edit, rename, or delete the playlist, as well as delete or add videos to the playlist and sort the videos within it.
How to watch TikTok videos in a Playlist
If you don't have the option to create a Playlist on TikTok or simply don't want to, you can still watch videos collected in one. Here's how:
- Go to the TikTok creator's profile with Playlists.
- Look for each Playlist between the profile bio and the feed of the videos.
- Select the Playlist that interests you to see the first video.
- Continue scrolling to view the rest of the videos included in the Playlist.
