You Can Now Save Music from Instagram Directly to Spotify

Users have been anticipating this feature for months, and now Instagram has finally introduced it: this new integration allows users to directly save songs from Instagram videos to their Spotify playlists, so the discovery of new music and keeping track of it becomes even easier.

Instagram continues to be a major platform for music discovery, alongside TikTok. Previously, users could just tap on a song featured in an Instagram video to view its details, but saving it for later listening involved extra steps. Now, with the addition of a Spotify “Add” button on song pages, users can seamlessly add songs to their Spotify “Liked Songs” playlist.

How to save a song from Instagram to Spotify

The first time users engage with the feature, they'll be prompted to connect their Spotify account. Afterward, a notification will confirm that the song has been successfully added, and users can continue browsing Instagram without switching apps.

  1. Tap on the song you liked in an Instagram post.
  2. Select the "Add to Spotify" button at the top. Instagram will prompt you to link your Spotify account.
  3. Tap "Link Spotify" to begin.
  4. Tap "Continue."
  5. Enter your Spotify account email and password, or log in using Google, Facebook, or Apple.
  6. Tap "Log In."
  7. Go back to Instagram and click "Add". The song will be added to your Spotify "Liked Songs" playlist.

Launched globally on October 17, the integration enables users to link their Instagram and Spotify accounts with no need for a Spotify Premium subscription. Some users may have to wait a bit longer to have this feature rolled out for their accounts.
