Independent developer Jared Jetsel has rolled out Logic Buddy, a new project management tool for Logic Pro users. This software helps producers, composers, and sound engineers keep track of their projects, ensuring that no file goes missing or gets damaged.
Logic Buddy isn’t just a simple cataloging tool, though. It scans your entire system for Logic Pro projects, creates a comprehensive database, and organises them by type. You can group projects by their creation or modification date, or even by when the last version was saved. Besides, it allows you to tag projects based on their current stage, whether that’s recording, mixing, or mastering, and also add custom tags for things like tempo, genre, or key.
While many of these tasks can be done manually with Finder, Logic Buddy is here to simplify and speed up the process. It also features a robust backup system that can recover corrupted files, a common headache for many Logic Pro users. The software searches for previous versions of files within a project and restores them, minimising the impact of accidental deletions or moves.

The software also includes a feature that lets users view only unfinished or, alternatively, only completed projects. This can be especially helpful for producers, composers, and arrangers who need to focus on specific tasks. Additionally, projects can be organised by the status of their lyrics, allowing users to group together works with finished lyrics or those that are still in progress.
