The multiplayer DAW that enables real-time music collaboration, BeatConnect has secured $2.25 million CAD in funding as it gears up for a relaunch. The funding is led by Sfermion alongside contributors such as FICC, Anges Québec, and Triptyq Capital.
This investment comes ahead of BeatConnect's planned relaunch in late spring, during which the platform aims to introduce enhancements to its interface and features. The revamped platform will utilise the Unity game engine to provide users with a more interactive and gamified music-making experience.
The company's focus on blending gaming elements with music creation has attracted investors who share its vision for innovative digital music production. "Sfermion is committed to supporting intelligent, interactive, and immersive technologies that are building our digital future," says Dan Patterson, Board Member of lead investor Sfermion, in a press release shared with Kill the DJ. "BeatConnect’s deliberate focus on enhancing the user’s creative process through UX design sets them apart from other online collaboration platforms."
"We are grateful to have the support of some of the most forward-thinking investors in digital entertainment and tech," says BeatConnect Co-Founder Alexandre Turbide in a press release. "The upcoming enhancements will broaden access to music creation, fostering new creative possibilities while focusing on the fun of making music."
