Soundstripe, a Nashville-based music licensing company, is joining forces with Orfium, Tuned Global, Music Reports, and Cyanite to develop a streamlined licensing platform set to debut in spring 2025. The new "click-to-license" platform will enable creators to access pre-cleared music, bridging a gap in an industry that has long struggled with complex rights management.
"These partnerships have brought to life a product that’s been addressing a need that’s evolved over a decade," says Trevor Hinesley, CTO and co-founder of Soundstripe in a press release. "Thanks to Orfium, Tuned Global, Music Reports, and Cyanite, Soundstripe now leads the industry toward a future where companies work together to protect the value of music and give rightsholders access to untapped revenue."
The collaboration brings together expertise across multiple areas of the licensing process. Orfium’s SyncTracker product will monitor music usage on user-generated content platforms like YouTube to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
"Orfium has managed UGC license clearance for Soundstripe’s catalog over the last several years, and is beyond excited to expand the partnership to include this first of a kind offering for Creators." says Orfium’s Chief Product Officer, Drew Delis.
Tuned Global will handle content delivery and asset management on the recording side, while Music Reports will cover publishing rights, ensuring full licensing support for users. Through Cyanite’s AI tagging and search technology, Soundstripe users will also benefit from enhanced music discovery and have quicker access to the right tracks for any project.
Since the partnership addresses both sound recording and publishing rights in a single platform, it claims to eliminate many of the obstacles that have traditionally slowed the licensing process.
Tuned Global Managing Director Con Raso noted that the partnership also serves broader industry goals. "Tuned Global is dedicated to helping labels and services navigate and realize new endeavors that support the business goals of all involved," says Tuned Global Managing Director Con Raso. "We are honored to partner with Soundstripe to create a collaborative music ecosystem, making it easier for creatives to do their best work."
For Music Reports, the opportunity to bring their licensing expertise to the new platform was a natural fit. COO Bill Colitre says that "Music Reports knows music publishing and how to license music rights for commercial uses" and that the team is excited to solve the "persistent problem of scalable music licensing for film, video, and ad creatives."
Cyanite's CEO, Markus Schwarzer, says about the partnership in a press release: "We’re thrilled to collaborate with Soundstripe as they integrate top-tier solutions within their platform. This partnership reflects the collaborative spirit and diversity of the music-tech industry. Supporting Soundstripe in helping users find the right music more easily and intuitively through our advanced tagging and search algorithms aligns perfectly with Cyanite’s mission.”
Soundstripe counts major brands like Microsoft and Pepsico among its clients and has seen rapid growth since its founding in 2016. In September 2024, as part of the company's broader strategy to incorporate AI into its services, Soundstripe announced a partnership with DAACI, an AI technology provider to introduce an AI song editing feature and enable users to easily customise tracks from Soundstripe’s library, enhancing user experience across 140 countries. With over 18 million licensed downloads to date, the company is now expanding its catalogue and entering agreements with major labels and publishers.
