TikTok, which is the Official Partner of Festival de Cannes this year, announces that it's opening the #TikTokShortFilm competition again, now on its third year.
"The competition reinforces TikTok's commitment to the entertainment and film industry by providing creators an opportunity to showcase their short films and be discovered by over 1 billion people around the world," says TikTok in their press release.
Between February 21 and March 15, 2024, creators can join the competition and submit their original vertical videos, lasting 1 minute or longer, using the hashtags #TikTokShortFilm and #TikTokShortFilmCompetition.
This year is the first time when creators from the US are eligible to participate. Winners of the Grand Gagnant, Best Script and Best Directing categories, selected by the panel of judges, will have a chance to present their work and receive prizes at the #TikTokShortFilm ceremony in Cannes, France. The Grand Winner will be awarded a cash prize of €10,000 (approximately $10,700 USD), while winners of the Best Script and Best Directing categories will each receive €5,000 (about $5,350 USD).
