X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is venturing into the production of original entertainment through a deal with Range Media Partners. According to reports from Deadline, top executives of the platform have confirmed this strategic partnership.

The collaboration between X and Range Media Partners will result in the creation of ten shows spanning various genres and formats. Notably, one of these shows will be hosted by renowned sports radio personality Jim Rome. The digital video show, set to debut after the upcoming Super Bowl in February, marks the platform's first major deal encompassing multiple projects. The move comes under the leadership of Brett Weitz, former General Manager of TNT, TBS and truTV executive and current Head of Content, Talent, and Brand Sales at X.

Weitz shared insights into the broader vision for X, stating, "We're building out more than just a content offering at X. We're building a 360-degree media destination that encompasses the best in sports, news, and a variety of other audio and video categories."

This development follows X's recent announcements of hosting shows by prominent figures such as former CNN host Don Lemon and entrepreneur Elon Musk. The latter, who owns X, has previously secured contracts with figures like Tucker Carlson, Don Lemon, and Tulsi Gabbard for exclusive shows on the platform.

Jim Rome, host of The Jim Rome Show, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "I couldn't be more hyped to develop and distribute my unique brand of content on X." He believes the platform's expansive reach and dynamic nature offers a significant opportunity to engage with fans and brand partners on a global scale.
