Swifties, Rejoice: Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Tickets Are More Affordable Than You Might Think

Apparently, we're approaching a new trend when it comes to big tours of stars whose shows are just as phenomenal as their names. Many American Swifties now opt for international dates when looking for their icon's show tickets. Why? It's just cheaper. We believe that the increasing prices in the US are not the only reason, though. Some American fans are simply unable to secure tickets for Swift's US shows due to high demand, but found more availability for the European leg of the tour.

Whatever the reason is, the report by DashTickets, an event and ticket expert, says that flying to another continent can save a significant sum of money for Taylor's fans because international ticket prices are much more reasonable compared to US resale prices. The report also points out that "strict consumer protection laws in other countries help keep prices fair." It gives countries like Japan and Australia as examples of areas with strict laws that actually restrict the resale of tickets to no more than 10% above the original price, which contrasts with the US where resale can go unchecked, leading to tickets being listed for as high as $2400 for shows in cities like Miami, but even more based on the location inside the stadium.

DashTicket created detailed maps and graphs, showcasing ticket prices from major resellers (StubHub, Viagogo, Ticombo, and TicketSmarter) and travel costs for the Eras Tour, and here are the key findings:

  • Stockholm's total minimum budget of $309, including tickets and 1 day of stay, food, and entertainment.
  • Madrid and Lyon with costs staying below $325 for a concert and stay.
  • Last-minute tickets have much lower prices. Buying last-minute for Taylor Swift’s Tour really works, at least in Europe.

"It’s exciting to see how fans are leveraging the affordability of international tour dates to experience Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. This trend is likely to grow, as more people discover the benefits of combining a concert experience with travel," commented Mark Dash, Chief Editor at DashTickets. "Our analysis shows that heading to Europe for the Eras Tour is not only cost-effective but also offers a unique opportunity to explore new cities while saving a lot of money at the same time."
