Those of you who are missing Every Noise at Once, try this: Dig This finds and recommends Discogs albums based on genre.

Philadelphia-based DJ and producer Doris Saturday has launched an app called Dig This, aimed at assisting music enthusiasts in discovering obscure releases on Discogs. Inspired by insights shared by DJ CCL in a recent video on the art of music digging on Resident Advisor, Saturday crafted the app as a weekend project.

"I was inspired by the @residentadvisor video of @ccl_url digging on @discogs so I made this app over the weekend that generates a random music recommendation based on a style you're interested in," shares Doris on X.

Once you open the app, you'll see five different music genres available on Discogs; mine were Modern Classic, Musique Concrete, Speed Garage, Disco, and Black Metal.

You just need to select a genre, and the app will generate a random music recommendation within that style, directing you to the corresponding Discogs listing. From there, you can further explore the release and search for audio samples on YouTube.

With each refresh of the app, five new music genres are displayed, so you can continuously explore the app.

Users seem to be happy. "I've been using this all morning and I can say thank you. You literally made my week, I'm going crazy rn," shares one of the users on X.
